Lights, camera, action!
The Rady JCC is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 2024 Winnipeg International Jewish Film Festival, proudly presented once again by The Asper Foundation with support from the Babs Asper Centre for Cultural Arts.
The 2024 edition is scheduled to run from June 1 to June 22. Cinema lovers will once again have opportunities to enjoy award-winning films, special events, visiting directors, music performances, and various receptions.
“We are excited to showcase the best in Jewish film at this year’s festival,” said Laura Marjovsky, Director of Programming at the Rady JCC. “The lineup is our best yet and we are sure that the wide variety of films available will be of interest to all film lovers.”
The majority of films will be screened at the Berney Theatre located at the Asper Jewish Community Campus (AJCC) at 123 Doncaster Street. This year we are proud to partner with Centre Cultural Franco-Manitobain for two film events at CCFM located at 340 Provencher Street.
The highly popular ‘Shorts on Sherbrook’ will be held once again at The Handsome Daughter, located at 61 Sherbrook Street, featuring some of the best Jewish short films. New this year is a virtual reality experience, featuring three Jewish stories that explore the sense of belonging, family and history. Virtual viewing options are also available, allowing viewers opportunities to enjoy nine top-notch movies at home during 48-hour windows from the time of their in-person premieres.
“The power of film is used to inspire, educate, entertain, spark conversations and build bridges within and outside of the Jewish community. Join us at this year’s Winnipeg International Jewish Film Festival and be captivated by the magic of film,” Marjovsky concluded. “We can’t wait to see you.”
