For the 24th consecutive year, the Rady JCC is thrilled to present Music ‘N’ Mavens, for years documented as Winnipeg’s foremost daytime concert and speaker series. Once again Music ‘N’ Mavens will feature performers and speakers every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (2:00 – 3:00 pm) starting January 18 and running till March 17 at the Rady Jewish Community Centre located at 123 Doncaster Street.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer a top of the line, quality program here at the Rady JCC once again. In these uncertain times, the concerts and speakers we have a scheduled will be the perfect escape for everyone”, added Laura Marjovsky, Rady JCC Manager of Programming
The season kicks off on Tuesday, January 18 featuring Sir Luc and the Dukes who will get the audience dancing with Soul, Funk, and a little bit of Motown. In total there will be 10 concerts concluding with the Dirty Catfish Brass Band, who will take the audience on A Trip to New Orleans on Thursday, March 17.
The engaging speaker component features 8 presentations including, Orysia Kulick’s discussion on the evolving situation in Poland and Belarus (Tuesday, January 25) and wraps up on Tuesday, March 15 with Radhika Desai’s talk on the political economy of farmers protest in India.
“It will be so wonderful to have our patrons return with smiles on their faces (through their masks!) dialoguing with the Music ’N’ Mavens speakers, and attending live concerts. I can’t wait to greet everyone in person once again”, says Karla Berbrayer, Founding Producer, Music ‘N’ Mavens.
