Late yesterday, the provincial government announced new COVID-19 public health orders for various establishments and public venues including gyms.
As a result, effective Tuesday, December 21, our fitness centre will operate with a 50% capacity at any given time. Members will be required to scan in and scan out after every visit in order for us to properly track our attendance. Please have patience as there may be a small wait when arriving or leaving. Also, please be sure to check our Live Capacity Count Tracker on our website starting Tuesday prior to your next visit to see where we are in terms of capacity.
Also beginning this Tuesday, if you are planning to use our pool for lap swimming, please note you must once again prebook your lane. You will be unable to swim without booking a lane in advance. There will be five lanes available for prebooking for 45-minute time slots. This will allow us proper time for cleaning between lap swim times.
Please also note there will absolutely be no sharing lanes unless people are from the same household. Lap bookings are available beginning 72 hours in advance of your start time and can be done through our online registration system found by clicking here.
We will also have our leisure pool available for members to book. There will be one spot available per session and people who book the leisure pool are able to bring up to 10 family members to swim. You can book our leisure pool beginning 72 hours in advance and can be done through our online registration system found by clicking here.
Finally, we remind you that masks will once again be mandatory at all times while at the Rady JCC. This includes in locker rooms, on the pool deck, and on the fitness floor. Members with underlying health conditions or who may be concerned about mask-wearing medical risks should refrain from strenuous exercises while at the Rady. Staff will be reminding members of this rule. Masks must be worn properly.
We plan to send out some more information early into the week regarding our group fitness classes as well as possible changes to some other amenities. For now, we thank you for working with us as we continue to work hard to make the Rady JCC a safe and welcoming place for us all to enjoy.
Warm regards,
Rob Berkowits
Executive Director
