In continual efforts to further mitigate any potential spread of the Coronavirus, this year’s Rady JCC Ken Kronson Sports Dinner is formally postponed until 2022. A formal date in 2022 as well as a Keynote Speaker will be announced later this year.
“There are still too many unknowns to be able to successfully deliver our dinner in 2021,” said Al Greenberg, Rady JCC Sports Dinner Committee Chair. “Our hope is that by next year, the vaccine rollout will be successful, and we will be able to host our annual dinner in a manner that people have come to expect.”
This will mark the second year in a row that the Rady JCC’s flagship fundraiser will not be held.
“We do have some exciting plans and new initiatives that we will announce out shortly for 2021 that will allow us to raise some of the crucial funds lost by not hosting our dinner,” said Greenberg. “While the void of not holding our dinner will be vastly felt, we are not going to let that slow down our ongoing fundraising efforts.”
Community members Carol and Neil Duboff, who were slated to be the 2020 Sports Dinner Honourees, have graciously agreed to be the 2022 Honourees. Long-time supporters Paul Winestock, Danny Childerhouse, and Brendan Rogers of RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities have also committed to being the 2022 Co-Title Sponsors along with new Co-Title Sponsors Michael Silver and Jason Bonneteau of WPG The Wealth Planning Group Inc.
The annual event – the largest of its kind in Manitoba – raises funds to enable the Rady JCC to provide scholarships, camperships, and community service programs for those in the community who need them most regardless of financial situation, ability, age, or cultural background.
