Idy & Max Nusgart Memorial Jewish Athlete of the Year Award

This award is presented annually to an athlete competing at the high school, provincial, national or international level. The award winner is provided with a bursary from the Fred Glazerman Memorial Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.


The Bert Knazan Award

This award is given to an athlete exhibiting excellence in athletic performance and good sportsmanship.

Cyril “Zeke” Marantz z”l  Manitoba Jewish Athletes Sports Wall of Honour

The Manitoba Jewish Athletes Wall of Fame was originally created in 1999 to recognize and honour Jewish members of Manitoba’s sports community. Since then members of Manitoba’s Jewish community have continued to excel in sports, as well as, support and build sports in our province.

The wall was rededicated in the memory of Cyril “Zeke” Marantz. The contribution made by his family also allowed for the addition of two new walls of honour: Jewish Builders of Sport in Manitoba and Jewish Athlete of the Year.

Applicants must be: 1) Jewish  2) Born in Manitoba 3) Competed in a sport beyond the high school level

Suitable applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria: 1) Competed at the Provincial level either individually or as a team member OR 2) Competed at the National level either individually or as a team member

Necessary application information must include: 1) Number of years of participation AND review of individual statistics

Note – Applicants who were instrumental in the establishment and/or growth of a particular sporting program or team will be considered for the “Builders Category” Applicants should include a brief summary of relevant achievements to be considered for this category.
