Bronze Medallion


Build the foundation of lifesaving.

This course challenges candidates mentally and physically, introducing the four core components of water rescue: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness. You’ll learn critical problem-solving and risk assessment skills to help you make smart decisions in, on, and around water.

Bronze Medallion is the first step on the path to becoming a lifeguard, and a prerequisite for Bronze Cross.

Bronze Cross


Step up as a leader and first responder.

Bronze Cross builds on the Medallion course and begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding. You’ll expand your water rescue techniques, practice active surveillance skills, and develop the teamwork and communication needed to respond effectively to aquatic emergencies.

This course is the next step toward becoming an assistant lifeguard and is a prerequisite for National Lifeguard certification.

National Lifeguard Certification


Protect, prevent, respond.

As the gold standard of lifeguard training in Canada, this course prepares you for real-world aquatic environments with a focus on prevention, emergency response, teamwork, and first aid. National Lifeguard certification is recognized coast to coast and is required to work as a professional lifeguard.

Develop confidence, leadership, and life-saving readiness through in-depth training in both water rescue and safety management.

Swim Instructor & Lifesaving Instructor Course


Inspire the next generation of swimmers.

This dual certification program prepares you to teach and evaluate swimming and lifesaving skills as part of the Lifesaving Society’s national curriculum. You’ll gain hands-on experience in lesson planning, teaching methods, stroke development, and evaluation techniques.

As a Swim Instructor, you’ll guide swimmers through the Swim for Life program.

As a Lifesaving Instructor, you’ll teach advanced programs like Swim Patrol, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross.
