Athletic Therapy at Rady JCC
An Athletic Therapist has in depth knowledge, education, and training in the human musculoskeletal system, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and basic emergency care. This allows Athletic Therapists to be quick thinkers on-field in the emergency care of athletes, any age and any level, as well as show their expertise at injury assessment and rehabilitation within a clinical setting. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all people, whether on the field or in the clinic.
Athletic Therapists treat a wide range of clients, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescriptions, as well as bracing and different taping techniques to help stabilize an injury. The goal of an Athletic Therapist is to return their client back to their usual activities, whether that means competitive sports or just walking the dog.
Certified Athletic Therapists can be recognized by the credential CAT (C)
