The Rady JCC is thrilled to announce it has officially sold out the 48th Annual Ken Kronson Sports Dinner, slated to take place Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg.

Three-time Super Bowl Champion and all-time NFL rushing leader Emmitt Smith will be in town to entertain and dazzle the room filled with over 1,200 business and community leaders. Local community volunteers and philanthropists Carol and Neil Duboff are also set to be honoured at the event of the year.

“After not hosting our gala for three years due to the pandemic, we weren’t sure what to expect,” said Al Greenberg, Rady JCC Sports Dinner Committee Chair. “The way the community rallied around us over the last few months is absolutely incredible.”

The annual event, the largest of its kind in Manitoba, raises funds to enable the Rady JCC to provide scholarships, camperships, and community service programs for those in the community who need them most regardless of financial situation, ability, age, or cultural background.

“Our goal is to raise the crucial dollars we need to maximize our impact on thousands of people throughout this city,” said Greenberg. “We recognize that we are part of the greater community and that we have a duty to ensure our reach goes beyond the Jewish community.”

On top of a formal program and multi-course meal, the evening features silent and rainbow auctions as well as an exciting live auction including once-in-a-lifetime trips, prizes, memorabilia, and experiences.

“Some highlights in our live auction include a trip to Boston’s Fenway Park for the 2023 NHL Winter Classic as well as a 1961 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertible, donated by Vickar Automotive Group. We’ve also got over 40 pieces of autographed sports memorabilia up for grabs and a host of other non-sports related items.”

Michael Silver and Jason Bonneteau of WPG The Wealth Planning Group as well as Paul Winestock and Danny Childerhouse of Winestock Wealth Management Group of RBC Dominion Securities are this year’s Co-Title Sponsors. They are joined by close to 100 other corporate sponsors and donors, ensuring a fabulous night to remember for a long time.

“Emmitt Smith said dreams start with a vision,” Greenberg said. “And that’s what we had here when we began planning this dinner. And thanks to the support of our community, our vision has been realized.”
