Mandatory Face Coverings at the Asper Jewish Community Campus Effective Tomorrow

August 31, 2020

Dear Rady JCC Friends,

The safety of our community continues to be our primary concern. As such, we are taking additional measures to ensure your well-being while you visit the Asper Jewish Community Campus.

Effective tomorrow, September 1, 2020, the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg in conjunction with the Asper Jewish Community Campus are implementing a mandatory face covering policy for all visitors over the age of 10.

NOTE – Face coverings/masks are NOT mandatory while working out/exercising in the Fitness Centre. They are mandatory to be worn in all other public areas of the facility.

Health Canada has identified that wearing masks or face coverings protects you and others from the spread of respiratory droplets that could be infectious.

The face covering policy joins existing measures to ensure that the Asper Jewish Community Campus remains safe and clean. Enhanced cleaning protocols continue to be in place throughout the building’s facilities, with a focus on high traffic and high contact areas.

To protect yourself and those around you, we ask that if you are feeling unwell, that you refrain from visiting the Campus or attending public gatherings so that we can continue to ensure a safe environment for those of all ages who use our community’s facilities. That includes coughing, high temperature or shortness of breath, if you have been to / transited through high-risk countries, or have been in contact with someone who has in the last 14 days.

We will continue to monitor the public health situation and make adjustments to these policies as needed.

In addition, as part of our ongoing commitment to restoring safe services at the Asper Jewish Community Campus, the building’s hours will be extended on September 8, 2020 to:

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • Friday, 6:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
