Rady JCC Embraces Community through Virtual Connect

April 14, 2020

Dear Rady JCC Friends,

The word ‘community’ can be defined as a social unit with commonality such as norms, religion, values, customs, or identity. Communities may share a sense of place either in a given geographical area or in a virtual space.

We here at Rady are a community. We have been for over 100 years now. And we will continue to be a community throughout these unprecedented times and long thereafter.

While our physical facility is closed for the foreseeable future due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the commonalities that make us a community are as present as ever. Right now, however, our community exists in a virtual space.

On April 3, 2020, we launched Rady JCC Virtual Connect: an online collection of links and resources to fitness classes, health resources, and cultural programs and activities; all things that make us a community.

Virtual Connect will allow our Members to stay engaged and connected with us from the safety and distance of their homes. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to see for yourself some of these great offerings found at www.radyjcc.com.

Like our physical community, Rady JCC Virtual Connect will continue to grow, day-by-day, with new links and resources. With that in mind, we want to hear from you. Let us know what sort of classes and programs you would be interested in participating in and learning from. Email us at inquiry@radyjcc.com with your suggestions.

Connection is a powerful tool. Let’s all work together as a community as we navigate through these uncharted waters. Remember, we are here for you while you can’t be here.

Kind regards,

Rob Berkowits
Executive Director
Rady JCC

As a reminder – for those Rady JCC Members still unsure about their membership dues as it relates to our facility closure, please refer to our communication published on March 25, 2020.
