The Rady Jewish Community Centre honoured its 8th Annual Ken H. Kronson Kehilla Award winners at its Annual General Meeting last night (December 16).
The Ken H. Kronson Kehilla Awards recognize the outstanding effort of those who volunteer at the Rady JCC. It is named in honour of Ken Kronson, who for 40 years served as chairperson for the annual Rady JCC’ – YMHA Sports Dinner.

Cultural Arts – Barb Hyman
Barb has been volunteering at the Rady JCC Shabbat Dinners for the past two years. She was responsible and did a great job greeting the families, registering and helping out with different tasks in this program. It is a pleasure to have her as a volunteer at every Shabbat Dinner and other Rady JCC programs.
Early Learning – Jannah Rittberg
Jannah moved back to Winnipeg in 2016 from England. While in England, she specialized in teaching mathematics and creating hands-on learning experiences for all ages. Since moving back, she has returned to teaching in both a counseling/resource, and physical education role. Jannah loves being involved in both of her children’s education within the Jewish community and volunteers her time and resources.
Engagement – Nichole Arenzon
Nichole is a hardworking and dedicated young person who is always available and willing to help. Nichole volunteered this past year doing a variety of duties including entertainment for a variety of events, helping to organize the Chanukah Musical event in Transcona and was a willing volunteer at many more events held at the Rady.
Folklorama – Patrick Elazar
Patrick has worked at the Israel Pavilion – Shalom Square for the last four years. He has always helped out as a Pavilion Host which involves greeting and helping people once they are inside the pavilion. His positive attitude, outgoing personality makes him a pleasure to work with. We could always count on him. Patrick also volunteers regularly at Limmud Wpg and JNF Wpg.
Inclusion – Nolan Watson
Nolan has been a huge part to the success of the Fun and Fitness Program. For over a year, Nolan has been volunteering with the Inclusion Programs rarely missing a day. While working Nolan makes sure that the participants are having fun and are engaged with the activities. Not only does Nolan makes sure the participants are well taken care of, he also makes sure to help the Inclusion Coordinator and other Inclusion Staff however he can.
Seniors – Bluma Levine
A lifelong Winnipegger, Bluma practiced as a Public Health Nurse for 23 years mostly in the core area of Winnipeg where she was responsible for pre-natal care, post-partum care, immunizations and other community healthcare needs. A dedicated member of the Rady, she volunteers her time at the Stay Young Club, enhancing the quality of life and wellness for older adults.
Sports Dinner – Blair Worb
Blair has been involved with the YMHA/Rady JCC for over 25 years. He was a Rady Board Member and serves on the Sports Dinner Committee including the last seven as Chair. Blair has been in the Life Insurance business for 31 years under Worb Financial. He is married to Rachel and has two children Daniel and Jessica.
Youth – Lena Steinberg
Lena currently holds the position of Regional Gizborit on the Red River Regional board; this position is one that is a perfect fit for Lena as she is primarily in charge of fundraising and volunteering. Lena’s commitment to BBYO as well as her Jewish community can be seen through the various volunteering days, donation booths, and group opportunities that she has planned for Jewish youth here in Winnipeg to give back to their community.
