Aquatics Program Manager (Permanent Full Time- 37.5 hours per week)

Are you an energetic and resourceful professional with a commitment to community and a passion for aquatics? The Rady JCC is looking for an Aquatics Program Manager to oversee the day to day operation of our aquatic center, supervising programs and services used by over 4000 participants annually, delivering CPR and 1st Aid training and assisting in developing safety standards and training for the Rady JCC. Reporting to the Director of Fitness and Health, you are a personable and organized professional with strong administrative skills who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You are a strong leader who can supervise and inspire over 40 employees and are able to manage a range of projects simultaneously. Ideally you possess the following assets:
 WSI, NLS, LSI certification. WSIT, LSIT and NLSI certification would be an asset
 First Aid and CPR instructor certification
 Demonstrated leadership ability
 Five years of swimming instructor and life guarding experience
 Three years previous program administration, planning and coordination experience.
 Ability to exceed customer expectations
 Pool operator (CPO) designation and aquatic fitness certification would be an asset
 Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
 Ability to provide safety, emergency procedures and risk management training
 Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Group Fitness Coordinator (Part-Time – 22.5 Hours per Week)

The Rady JCC is seeking the expertise of a fitness professional who will contribute to positive lifestyle changes for members and guests who utilize the Rady JCC programs, services and facilities.  The Group Fitness Coordinator will be required to recruit, train, evaluate and motivate group fitness staff; develop schedules; ensure cleanliness in the facility; oversee minor program equipment purchases; ensure the seamless operation of a variety of group fitness programs;  assist the development of budgets and long term strategies. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to inspire members and instructors; have strong customer service skills and be a people person. The successful candidate will be able to lead group exercise programs and initiate programs and special events that results in positive engagement of our members.

The ideal candidate will bring the following minimum requirements:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree with specialization in the human performance sciences, MFC Group Fitness, MFC Aqua Fitness would be an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid with Basic Rescuer CPR Level C
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising a variety of group fitness classes including mind/body, cardio, resistance training, HIIT, Aqua and indoor cycling
  • Experience leading a variety of group fitness classes
  • Ability to motivate and engage members in group settings as well as individually
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Can contribute to an atmosphere of creativity, fun and energy
