Hailed by The New York Times as a “revelation,” and The Chicago Tribune as “The most promising discovery that [Wynton] Marsalis has made since Eric Reed”, you’re catching this rising star, Aaron Diehl, on his way to becoming one of the most significant jazz pianists of his time.
“He’s not dealing with musical arithmetic, he’s dealing with feelings and emotions, things that will move people emotionally, mentally and physically, make the head bob and the foot pat.”(Benny Golson)
Aaron Diehl has performed with the Wynton Marsalis Septet, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, The Boston Symphony Orchestra, and jazz greats like Benny Golson, Hank Jones, and Wycliffe Gordon and has been featured on Marian McPartland’s NPR radio show Piano Jazz. His international touring has included major European jazz festivals as well as performances in South America and Asia. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Diehl is a 2007 graduate of the renowned Juilliard School of Music.
Charenee is a Jazz vocalist with a voice that easily runs the scales, moving from emotional, heartfelt ballads to distinctive sharp notes, scatting, belting out the funk like Dee Dee Bridgewater or being a storyteller similar to Lincoln or Shirley Horn.
Limited tickets remain for the twoshows taking place in the Berney Theatre at Rady JCC April 17.
